Insulated conservatory roofs
Stop wasting your conservatory
An insulated tiled roof turns a room that's too hot in July and freezing in January into a proper living space you can use every day of the year.

Sound familiar?
Most conservatories with an old glass or polycarbonate roof end up as a store room for garden furniture. The problem is the roof, not the room.
- Too hot to sit in on a sunny day
- Freezing from November to March
- Deafening when it rains
- Glare on the TV or laptop screen
- Not a proper room, so nobody uses it

Why the old roof is the problem
Glass and polycarbonate let the sun straight in and the heat straight out. That’s why a conservatory feels like a greenhouse in summer, a fridge in winter, and a drum when it rains.
An insulated tiled roof fixes all three at once. The insulation holds heat in when it’s cold and keeps it out when it’s hot, and the tiles take the noise out of the rain. Inside, you get a plastered ceiling that makes it feel like any other room in the house.

- A plastered internal finish, with lighting options
- A roof that improves the look and value of your home

- A 10-year guarantee
- A local, family-run installer you can actually get hold of
Materials
What the roof is made of
Three well-known products, chosen because they work together and last.
-
Timberlite roof system
A lightweight engineered timber frame, made to the exact shape of your conservatory. Light enough for existing frames, strong enough for a proper tiled roof.
-
Kingspan insulation
High-performance insulation board fitted throughout the roof. This is what stops the heat escaping in winter and baking the room in summer.
-
Britmet tiles
Lightweight metal tiles that look like slate or clay, in a choice of colours to match your house roof. They don't crack, shift or grow moss.

FAQ
Questions people ask us
How much does an insulated conservatory roof cost?
It depends on the size and shape of your conservatory and the finish you want inside. We’ll give you a written, fixed quote after a free survey, and finance is available through Ideal4Finance if you’d like to spread the cost.
Is it guaranteed?
Yes. Every roof we fit comes with a 10-year guarantee.
Can a tiled roof go on any conservatory?
Almost always. The Timberlite system is light enough for most existing uPVC and aluminium frames, and it’s made to fit lean-to, Victorian, Edwardian, P-shape and T-shape conservatories. If your frames aren’t up to it, we’ll tell you at the survey rather than after.
Will I need planning permission?
In most cases a roof replacement doesn’t need planning permission, but it does have to meet building regulations. We handle that side and tell you exactly what applies to your house at the survey.
How long does it take?
Once your roof has been made, the fitting itself is usually a matter of days rather than weeks. We’ll give you dates before we start and keep to them.
Will it be dark inside?
Not if you don’t want it to be. Roof lanterns and skylights can be built into the new roof, and the plastered ceiling can take spotlights. Most people find the room brighter than they expected because there’s no more glare.
What maintenance does it need?
Very little. Britmet tiles don’t crack or shift, and there’s no polycarbonate to go green. Keep the gutters clear and that’s about it.
